We are seeking study participants who are at least 18 years old and drink alcohol on a regular basis.

Purpose
We are testing an experimental drug named semaglutide to see if it is safe in people with alcohol problems. We also want to find out if the study drug reduces drinking, and how well people respond to the study drug.
Length of Study
20 weekly outpatient visits and 1 follow up visit 7 weeks after the last visit.
Study Activities
Taking semaglutide (Ozempic or Wegovy) and/or a placebo during visits, completing questionnaires, fMRI scans, virtual reality, and blood draws.
Compensation
Up to $4,300.
Local Travel
Will be provided (via Uber Health) or reimbursed.
