Purpose
We are evaluating an FDA-approved drug called spironolactone. We want to understand how the body breaks down this drug and if there are any side effects in people who drink alcohol and take this drug.
Length of Study
Four 7-day clinic stays at the NIDA Biomedical Research Center in Baltimore, MD.
Study Activities
Taking a drug (spironolactone) and/or a placebo during visits, ETOH consumption, blood samples, and completing questionnaires.
Compensation
Completing the study can earn you up to $3,075 in compensation. If you opt-in for additional overnight stays, the compensation can reach $4,525.
Local Travel
Will be provided (via Uber Health) or reimbursed.
