We’re seeking nicotine users for a research study at the National Institute on Drug Abuse in Baltimore, MD

We are seeking study participants who are 18-60 years of age who smoke or vape nicotine.

Purpose

Administering the orexin antagonist (Suvorexant) to smokers/vapers to evaluate the impact of orexin antagonism on neural and behavioral substrates of addiction.

Length of Study

5-6 outpatient visits over 1-2 months.

Study Activities

Questionnaires, MRI scans, wearing a watch-like device to track your sleep, blood draws, and taking a medication (suvorexant) or a placebo for several days before scans.

Compensation

Up to $1,475.

Local Travel

Will be provided (via Uber Health) or reimbursed.
